FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
For your Thai Massage, please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing that will move with you. Sweat pants and a t-shirt are ideal. If you are adding the herbal compress to your service, shorts and a sleeveless shirt work better to allow for maximum contact with the skin.
WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT?
Expecting mothers require specialized care. If your pregnancy is high risk, or if you are still in your first trimester, massage therapy is contraindicated. However if you are at least into your second trimester and the pregnancy is going smoothly, a gentle 1hr massage can provide wonderful relief to your changing body. Thai massage allows for the most comfortable positioning and can be done as often as you feel you need it.
IS THAI MASSAGE FOR EVERYONE?
Though we try to customize our approach according to each individual's needs and goals, there are some cases when Thai Massage is contraindicated. If you suffer from severe arthritis, have difficulty getting on and off the floor, have multiple joint replacements or need a very light touch, massage on the table is the better option for you. Please always discuss medical conditions with your therapist prior to your appointment.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
If it is your first visit, please arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out an intake form and to get familiar with the space. If it is a repeat visit, arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment to use the restroom and to discuss your needs with your therapist.
SHOULD I TIP?
Tips are appreciated but not required! We will not grumble or feel slighted if a tip is not in your budget but if you would like to express extra gratitude to your therapist, a typical tip is 15-20% of the service cost.
